Canva is Hiring a Content Strategist Near Sydney, FL

Join The Team Redefining How The World Experiences Design.Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!
Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.
Where And How You Can WorkOur flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.
What You’d Be Doing In This RoleAs Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On
  • Content strategy : This is not a content marketing role! Instead, you’ll practice end-to-end UX content strategy, across the whole content lifecycle. You’ll lead and execute the content strategy for the Canva website including optimising user experiences, content consultancy, navigation and IA, publishing processes, measurement plans, SEO strategy, taxonomy and localisation strategies.
  • Leadership : You’ll work with our product marketers, growth strategists, copywriters, designers, engineers, and SEO team to spearhead new initiatives and workflows that deliver better solutions to our users across Canva’s website. You’ll advocate for content strategy across the business and contribute to a culture of content strategy at Canva.
  • Results : Your strategy isn’t just for show, you know how to get it shipped! It will help users meet their goals, faster – and, in turn, creating positive results for the business.
  • Collaboration: You’ll bring SEO, design, marketers, PMs, engineers, and content writers together to find the best solutions for our users. You’ll contribute to the Content Strategy subspecialty at Canva, working with other Content Strategists to create a happy, healthy and impactful team.
You're probably a match if
  • You’re a mid-level Content Strategist who’s got a proven track record of solving complex problems, ideally in the tech/SaaS industry.
  • You have experience working with marketing and/or growth teams, SEO, CRO, data scientists, UX designers, and web development across thousands of SEO pages. Even better if this has been translated into languages all around the world.
  • You know best practice SEO at scale, but still retain a love for all things voice and tone.
  • You use data and insights to inform decisions and can spot opportunities with a bias towards action.
  • You’re not afraid of complexity – in fact, that’s where you thrive. You like to look deeply at the issues that contribute to content problems, and make strategic solutions, not tactical, piecemeal ones.
  • You know how to get buy-in from key stakeholders. You’ve got a track record of bringing people through periods of change with compassion and enthusiasm.
  • You like to move quickly, and aren’t afraid of fast growth and rapid change. Canva is growing faster than you can imagine – which means solutions that worked 6 months ago might break. You’re up for that challenge.
About The TeamIf you’re looking to practice your craft with a mandate to do proper UX content strategy – with a lot of independence – this is the role for you. We seek to have a deep impact on key areas, not just shallow impact everywhere. You’ll get lots of support from the diverse content team across the business. As soon as you arrive, we’ll be saying, “Thank goodness you’re here!”
Content Strategy sits alongside Content Design as a small and growing part of our Design specialty. Canva sees content as a crucial part of its ongoing success – and we’re really focused on improving our content experience. We’ve got a lot of content, but we need to do a better job of delivering the right content to the right people at the right time – and fixing silos.
Our specialty collaborates closely with Product Marketers, Growth Strategists, PMs, Designers, Engineers and Design Researchers to identify solutions that prioritise our users’ needs.
What's in it for you? Achieving our crazy big goals motivates us to work hard - and we do - but you'll experience lots of moments of magic, connectivity and fun woven throughout life at Canva, too. We also offer a range of benefits to set you up for every success in and outside of work.
Here's a Taste Of What's On Offer
  • Equity packages - we want our success to be yours too
  • Inclusive parental leave policy that supports all parents & carers
  • An annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support your wellbeing, social connection, office setup & more
  • Flexible leave options that empower you to be a force for good, take time to recharge and supports you personally
